My 2nd Tag!!!

This week i decided to try my hand again at creating a tag. My friend Lisa had sent me a few goodies and in their was a stamp of a lady that sort of had a vintage look to her. At the time i didn't know what i was going to do with her, but after watching a video of a tag that Lisa had emailed to me, i knew exactly what i wanted to do. Thanks Lisa for the inspiration for creating this tag. This one's for you girl!!!!

As you all may know by now that i have not created many tags before. This tag here is only my second one that i have ever created myself. On this tag i played around with my distress inks, sentiment stamps, prima flowers, ribbon, and fibers. I think this tag actually turned out better than my first tag. Although i have to admit that i did mess up 2 tags in the process, but i can admit that, because i do not claim to be perfect. LOL

Happy Father's Day!!!!

Hi everyone!!! I hope everyone is having a Happy Father's Day today! I just wanted to say Happy Father's day to all our father's out there as well as all our single mother's out there who are being both mother and father to their children! I especially want to to give a big ups to you all, because so many times it goes unnoticed and it is extremely hard raising a child or children with no male figure around. Trust me ladies i know. I became a single mother almost three years ago when the father of my children died suddenly. It is extremely hard, but i have to keep going and keep the faith that everything is going to be alright. I want to let you ladies know that i know it can be hard and fustrating to be raising your kids alone, but always remember that no matter what role you have to play in your childs life always keep your faith, stay positive, and never let anyone tell you that you cannot make it. Always give extra encouragement to your children and remember to hug and kiss them more often. You may not realize it, but from those little eyes of theirs they are watching and learning every move we as parents make.
Happy Father's Day!!!!! ~Teniqua

Sunflower Girls!!!

All week i have been trying to figure out what my next project would be. I sat around, played with my children, did some cleaning of my scrap area, and for some reason i just couldn't think of anything to scrap........... You guessed it! I had lost my mojo......... This went on for days i tell you. I was really in the dumps. I had no inspiration this week at all. Until Friday. I was putting some shelves together to make room for my sizzix dies and i came across one that gave me an idea. So i quickly gathered my tools and went to work. I came up with what im calling my Sunflower Girls. I used my Sunflower #2 Sizzix die to create a frame for pictures of my girls. I bought a small flower pot from the craft store and painted it black, added some Prima flowers, Bling, Ribbons, Stickers, and just like that i had had my project for the week. Not bad for losing my mojo and coming up with a quick simple project that only took me an hour to create.......

Altered Box with Mini!!!!

Hi you guys!!!! Here is my second project that i created this week that i wanted to share. This week i decided to alter a wooden box that i picked up from my local Micheal's a few weeks ago. I had so much fun altering this box that i decided that it just would not be complete if i left it empty, so the results of that thought produced WHAT you may be asking???? A tissue roll mini. I had so much fun doing that last weekend that i decided why not create another mini. This time i had to cut my tissue roll paper in half that way it would fit inside the box that i altered. For the alter box and the tissue roll mini i used paper by DCWV called the Mariposa Collection. I glimmer misted the flowers using Tattered Angels Patina and Slate glimmer mist and also added some Diamond Dust to give it a more sparkled look. This weeks project was super fun and im looking forward to creating next weeks project. I will be doing a video on this project, so be sure to check out my YouTube by clicking on the black box on the right. Also check out these lovely ladies to see their weekly projects. These ladies have some awesome work....

Girly Mini!!!

Good evening everyone! Its late and I am just finishing up with my project for today. My friend Shen and I decided to do weekly projects to keep us creating more often. To see some of her work check her out at http://www.mycuriouscrafts.blogspot.com/ or on youtube at mycuriouscrafts. For my project i decided to create a little mini for my daughters. As you all know by now they are VERY entertaining!!! I created this album using left over tissue roll cardboard paper. You know the stuff we usually toss in the trash. Well i have been saving them for a project like this and today felt like a good day to put them to use. I started by sanding and painting the cardboard with some pink acrylic paint. For my choice of paper i used the Berry Sweet Collection by DCWV. I thought that would be very girly for my girls..... I also created tags to put in the inside of the album and topped them using different shades of Prima flowers. I loved the way this mini turned out and my girls were super-duper excited as well. Thanks for looking!!! ~TENIQUA~

Girls! Just wanna have FUN!!!!!

Today i was just sitting at the computer desk checking some messages and chit-chating with an online friend. I began to notice that my daughters were becoming anxious for me to get off of the computer,so they could play some computer games. This went on for a while i tell you. I asked them why were they rushing me to give up my toy, when i do not rush them to stop playing with their toys. Well anyway, my baby girl decided to go through my makeup drawer and pull some things out. As i was laughing and typing away in my own little worl on the computer, i started to feel my oldest daughter pulling my hair into a ponytail and my youngest daughter putting red lipstick on my lips. Before i knew it, i had on blush, lipgloss, eyeshadow, and false eyelashes. What was i to do???? I couldn't do anything but laugh and smile at them. They were having soooooo much fun putting makeup on my face. It was actually the first time they have ever played in my makeup, so i know they enjoyed themselves. My daughter says she did because she was trying to get me off of the computer. I do not have to tell you that it worked!!!! I thought it was so cute had to share this with you all........ Thanks for watching! ~Teniqua~ :~)
